ERYNEX is recombinant human erythropoietin alpha (rHuEPO). Erythropoietin is a glycoprotein, which stimulates red blood cell (Erythropoiesis) production. It is produced in the kidney and stimulates the division and differentiation of committed erythroid progenitors in the bone marrow. Erythropoietin stimulates erythropoiesis in anemic patients with chronic renal failure in whom the endogenous production of erythropoietin is impaired.
