RENOKIT Tablet is alpha ketoanalogue and essential amino acid tablet. RENOKIT Tablet contains all amino acids essential for uremic patients, five out of them are keto or hydroxyanalogues in the form of calcium salts. In combination with very low protein diet / low protein diet, RENOKIT Tablet helps in delaying the progression of kidney disease in the Predialysis period.

Description

MODE OF ACTION:
allows the intake of essential amino acids while minimizing the amino-nitrogen intake. Following ingestion the ketoanalogue are transaminated by taking nitrogen from non-essential amino acids, thereby decreasing the formation of urea by re-using the amino group.

INDICATION:
In Prevention and therapy of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism, chronic renal insufficiency, In patients with a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) below 25 ml/min & Protein energy malnutrition.

DOSAGE:
4 to 8 tablets three times a day during meals. This dosage applies to adults (70 kg body weight) (=1tablet/5kg body weight/day). RENOKIT tablets can be given as long as the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is below 25 ml/min and a diet with an intake of max. 40 g protein per day (for adults) is followed.
